Many view samsara, the cycle of life, death and rebirth, as something to be escaped, but to do this it must first be explored and understood over time.

Samsara Bazaar is an upcoming concept store showcasing illustrations inspired by medieval and ancient folk art from lands spanning the Silk Road, the cosmic philosophies of Dharmic faiths, Mughal poetry and groovy Asian typography.

I wanted to bring these iconic cultural traditions into the roaring 2020s with vibrant colour palettes, loud lettering, vintage penwork, bold compositions and an emphasis on clean design.

Samsara Bazaar will offer refreshed retro goods, brought across the stretches of time on a merchant’s caravan to discerning buyers with eclectic eyes.

All illustrations were made on Procreate using an iPad Air. I have since been working with printers, merchandisers and textile designers to bring out printed artworks, tapestries, clothing, bedding, body art, stickers and more.
